Looking back at my childhood gold jewelry always meant something, a remembrance of a Church milestone in particular, such as the pin for my Christening or the special Rosary I held during my Holy Communion. All those statement pieces were memories of love. The gifts of jewelry continued for birthdays, Christmas, graduations, engagement and marriage thus creating a bond between cherished memories and jewelry forever in my heart.
I started collecting Vintage jewelry in my College years and have continued to this day. The thrill of the find has always appealed to me, even if it wasn’t 100% gold then, in fact Miriam Haskell jewelry had a percentage of gold and her ornate designs were exclusive with clusters of pearls and rhinestones. Art deco jewelry of the 30’s and the 40’s were a hit for me in the 60’s and 70’s.
As I evolved as an experienced shopper so did jewelry in different trends as plastic took over and one could see a lot of color and huge pieces. Fun to look at but the market had increased and quality had dropped.
Traveling in different parts of the world exposed me to more variety and to the experience of beautiful gemstones in yellow and white gold. Of course living in New York always offered the best views of great jewelry store windows, such as Tiffany’s and Cartier.
At this time of my life I decided I had to share some of those lovely pieces that I collected and go into a business that made me happy, selling jewelry and interacting with people. After all, each piece of jewelry is also God’s creation and I’m fortunate to have found it. Even the name ‘Angelic Whispers’ came to me in meditation as I heard it whispered in my ear.
